Milwaukee Row Club

Vetter Denk Architects was commissioned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Rowing Club to design a new facility to house the club in 2001. The Milwaukee Rowing Club at Kilbourn Landing - situated at 1990 North Commerce Street on the beautiful Milwaukee River - is a dynamic piece of civic architecture organizing the entire Beerline Neighborhood.

The Boathouse acts as a glowing nighttime jewel and point of intersection within the neighborhood. It connects the Riverwalk with the award-winning Beerline River Homes and extends the Kilbourn Park bluff south to the river across the landscaped roof. The proportions of the building and its custom curtain wall were inspired by the dimensions of the rowing sculls stored within.
